I'm writing to ask you to support the protection of Australia's unique and amazing marine life, and in particular the many whales and dolphins that call the west of Australia home.
Australians are lucky enough to enjoy one of the biggest and best marine environments in the world. But, less than 1% of waters in the west of Australia are protected. Noise pollution, oil spills and overfishing means that urgent action is needed from Government. Under pressure and unprotected, its future now hangs in the balance.
We urge you to take this opportunity to proclaim large, highly protected marine protected areas off the coast in the west of Australia, protecting the critical habitats of the whales and dolphins that call this region of the world home.
The world is watching Australia right now, and your decision will have an influence on other countries starting similar processes. Please don’t waste this opportunity. |
